MITO AI, a Madrid and San Francisco-based AI-powered video creation startup, recently announced a $4.5 million pre-seed funding round.
Pre-seed is the first venture capital round the startup has secured so far. MITO AI, officially launched in early 2026, has raised approximately $4.5 million in funding to date, according to the latest funding data compiled by Startup Funding News.
With fresh funding, MITO AI plans to enhance its AI video creation tools and expand its ecosystem for content creators.
The latest investment round was led by Paul Murphy at Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Kibo, Kfund, Sequoia, and a16z scouts, as well as LifeX, Everywhere, and several notable angel investors.
MITO AI is led by CEO Arantxa Barcia, and CPO Danny Saltaren. The startup provides a secure collaborative, AI-native environment for creative professionals. Its core product is a browser-based canvas integrating AI-powered media models with editing tools. The platform includes an AI “copilot director” to aid in various stages of production and is developing an AI audiovisual studio and creator marketplace.
Going forward in 2026, the recently funded startup MITO AI is expanding into a comprehensive creative ecosystem that bridges the gap between generative technology and professional filmmaking. It is already collaborating with top TV and movie production companies to integrate generative tools into the professional production stack.
