Stathera, a Montreal, Canada-based fabless semiconductor startup advancing silicon timing solutions, raised US$55 million in Series B funding.
The investment round was led by new investor Maverick Silicon, with continued participation from existing backers Celesta Capital, BDC Capital, MediaTek Innovation Fund, TXC Corporation, and Ultratech Capital Partners.
George Xereas, Co-founder and CEO of Stathera said the latest funding round, which brings the company’s total funding to date to US$75 million, will help to scale up production capacity, grow its commercial teams, and establish a new corporate footprint in Silicon Valley.
Stathera develops MEMS-based silicon oscillators powered by a proprietary DualMode architecture, engineered to replace legacy quartz crystals with timing components that are up to 85% smaller, more power-efficient, and highly resilient against thermal shock and vibration.
The startup has already deployed its chip sampling catalog across Tier 1 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), targeting its high-precision synchronization hardware to optimize data transfers within high-density GPU clusters and enterprise network switches.
